There are many good reasons to join a professional association. In an organization such as COVR, that represents several aspects of the visionary community, each category of membership receives different benefits from membership.
One valuable benefit that both retail and vendor members can sometimes overlook is the opportunity to offer and receive discounts.
For vendors this is an excellent opportunity to introduce your products to new and existing COVR retailers. It is always easier to get a new customer by offering them a special discount or service with their first order. Vendors can take advantage of the COVR website to offer special discounts to COVR members. Be sure to make your offer something that is available only to COVR members and not just a discount or perk offered to all of your customers. This helps to show the retailer that you value their professionalism and consider them a ‘special’ customer. Everyone likes to feel special.
During the slower sales times for your company remember to encourage COVR retailers to buy your products by posting a special discount or offer. You can not only do this on the COVR website but also post on COVR Fb pages.
Discounts do increase sales. A COVR vendor offers a 10% discount on orders placed during the month of October. The sale ended on October 30 and the vendor experienced the largest sales volume on that day in the 25 year history of the company. Retailers do want those discounts and they do increase sales.
For retailers there are special perks from COVR vendors that can help your sales and your bottom line. If a vendor is offering a 10% discount on product the discount represents a 10% increase in your bottom line. Be sure to check the COVR website to see if the vendor you are going to place an order with is offering something special.
When you do order be sure to tell the vendor you are a COVR member and would appreciate any discounts they are offering. Unfortunately, most of the software programs used by vendors to process orders don’t make it easy for the vendor to remember to give you any discounts you are entitled to. A good vendor wants to make you happy so you can help in the process by reminding them you are a member.
By being loyal to COVR vendors you will be doing a service to our visionary community. If a product is available from two vendors, all things being equal, you will help make your industry even stronger by selecting the COVR member as your source. Take a moment to tell the vendor you are ordering from them because of their membership in COVR.
Retailers love to get a bargain or special deal, and vendors love to increase sales, so the COVR discount program is a great way to make everyone happy.
