Beginning the Business Year

The new year is always an exciting time; a chance to put things in order and do better in the coming year. Most of the people I know are doing the fun stuff – re-stocking inventory after a great holiday season and looking at the calendar to plan events for the coming year.

However, there are also a few accounting and tax chores to take care of this time of year. When people think of January and taxes, they tend to think of collecting information to get their income taxes filed, but there’s more to it than that.
